We've been there at Christmas, for my birthday, at high school graduation (that was definitely NOT planned well) on the way home from a Mexico wedding and now...at HALLOWEEN!! I'm not a fan of Halloween at home, but in America, at Disneyland well, that's not to be missed - I even packed a costume.
Fun fun fun - of course the decorations were spectacular - Disney is always perfection no matter the theme or holiday.
The most amazing were the illuminations on Main Street and on Sleeping Beauty's Castle - cobwebs, crawling creatures and cemetery projections transforming the beautiful caste into a creepy backdrop and scary old witches house.
Add a giant Jack O'Lantern at Main square, characters dressed in Halloween costumes - think Donald in a pumpkin outfit and Goofy as a skeleton - Halloween balloons, kids and families dressed up in incredible costumes. And pumpkins, pumpkins everywhere - along the entry gates, on poles, on top of Main Street station, surrounding Walt and Mickey in front of the castle.
Mickey's Halloween Party (tickets only and held twice a week) was not a great success for us as Emmie was sick and we had to leave early so we missed the fireworks and projection show. But just seeing everyone dressed up to the nines, and getting onto all the rides without queuing - as everyone else was lining up for candy at the Trick or Treat stands - was very cool. Halloween themed music pumped through the loud speakers and the Disney villains were out in Main Square (although good luck trying to get a pic - the queues where huge).
I would love to go back again with Emmie in good form and spend our usual 15 hours in the park each day! But nevertheless it was another awesome trip. If we went again (and oh yes I want to) I think we would dress up more and make sure were well enough to spend more time at the Party! xo
