WE LOVE AIRBNB – OUR STAY AT LANES END, BERRY

WE LOVE AIRBNB – OUR STAY AT LANES END, BERRY

Sometimes you just need a little piece of home on holidays. Familiarity, quiet nooks, those little touches like farm fresh eggs, kids toys and a library and wine for the adults.

One of the reasons I love Airbnb is that when you stay, you’re in a loved home. Not only do you get to visit somewhere new and explore a different part of the world or your neighbourhood, you get to come home to well, home.

And while there’s only two of us and we never struggle with maximum limits for rooms, I know how difficult it can be for bigger families to find affordable accom when you’re looking at having to take two rooms at a hotel. Airbnb homes with multiple rooms are so perfect for families or groups of friends.

And as we found when we booked our Airbnb stays when we were traveling through Asia, it makes it much easier to find accom in foreign towns. I don’t even know how you would find accommodation like this before AirBNB – it’s secure, it’s safe and its so easy to arrange.

We’ve stayed in Airbnb homes and apartments in Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia – and all have been fabulous.

Our latest stay however, was much closer to home – at Lane’s End in Berry on the south coast of NSW. We arrived down a lane, driving past beautiful houses and cloured gardens until we reached the end – and our gorgeous country cottage perfectly styled and surrounded by fields of dairy cattle, pigs and rolling green hills.

And again, the little touches – the fresh native flowers and local eggs and mandarins, the edible garden and fire pit, children’s books and games and the incredible treehouse for the kids to play in made our stay just perfect and very restful. Just what we needed.

Here are our fave parts of our stay:

Fresh waratahs, eggs and mandarins from the garden.

Roasting marshmallows around the fire in the evening.
